All About Nelly
Most people call me Helen! I’ve never really gone by Nelly, it’s just a lovely old nickname that I thought suited the brand more than my own name (and who doesn’t like to hide behind a persona a bit too!)
I live in a village in South Wales not far from the coast with my husband and 2 children where we are currently renovating our home, exploring the countryside and generally enjoying life with 2 small people.
I became a mum back in 2016 with the birth of my son. It changed EVERYTHING! As I planned and made a space for him to call his own I realised that my work was perfect for creating playful and stylish kids rooms. Up until that point I had been printing cushions, cards, scarves and t-shirts and felt a little lost with my target market. I had studied textile design at Falmouth College of Arts and my designs had always been well received but I never felt I truly found my design focus until I landed in kids design.
From there I’ve enjoyed designing collections that combine some of my favourite things. I find designing for children really self indulgent as I get to draw fun animals and rainbows! I want to create playful and inspiring interiors for little ones to explore their imagination and provide them with pieces they will treasure for a lifetime.
